Ancaster Swap Meet 2011

Spring and The New Driving Season Are Here!

Yeah, right!

Rain, sleet and snow driven by cold north winds. Blizzard weather in the tail end of April

The Ancaster Swap Meet put on by the BSCC and the AHCSO at Marritt Hall ran hot and cold. Cold on the outside and hot on the inside.

Coming in from non preferred parking, I stayed outside where there were frozen vendors, about a dozen of them. They were cold. They were wet. They were wishing they coughed up the extra money for an indoor table.

Al Guest was there defying the cold. I think it was him who had the 2004 MGF, which I do not have a picture of. He did have a Mini Clubman bought by Roger Tipple. I do have a picture of that.

I checked out 3 1/2 Triumphs, a couple of Minis, an MGB GT and a Midget.

I then checked out who drove, parking in the preferred parking area. There were not quite as many as last year but there were some. There were Minis, MGBs, Jaguars, a Frogeye Sprite and a Daimler Dart/SP250.

I took my frozen fingers inside, and made my way to the club table first to say my hullos before getting dragged back outside.

Here are my pictures. You will notice I did not get any pictures inside. If anyone can help with this or add any bits of info, or send me some more pictures I'll take them.

This did not look good

This did not look much better. Throwing caution to the winds I drove on. Besides, how bad could a late April blizzard be?

The weather did not let up all day. The sun popped out on occasion to feel like it warmed up the temperature, but actually did not.

There is a bike race held along Powerline Rd and Trinity Rd the same day. It always messes up traffic and is tough to avoid.
