Canada Day 2015

Embro Highland Games British Car Show

A few years ago, Philip Allen decided that the traditional Highland Games, held in Embro ON on Canada Day, needed a British Car Show. He and Sandy set about spreading the word.

Their tenacity paid off, and on Canada Day this year, 36 Brits turned up in rather cool overcast weather to show off their treasures.

To no-one's surprise but his own, Ian Hasler took home the plaque for Best in Show, with his newly-acquired 1968 Morris Minor Traveller. This was Ian's first outing with this car, and he had better get used to carrying home a few trophies. John Wright's beautiful 1962 Hillman Super Minx was equally deserving of the Best Saloon trophy, impressing this writer with the need for a little more effort in this class!

Despite the cool weather and constant threat of rain, the swirl of the kilt and the chant of the pipes kept everyone in good spirits. (Not, not that kind of spirits, although the Scots are known for that wonderful amber liquid......)

See you next year!

A Caledonia Canada Day

The Marina took us to Caledonia for Canada Day. Ninety miles without a hitch!

I grabbed only these two snaps.
