The Firle Hill Climb Returns
Sunday 20th September, 2015

Organized by the Bopeep Drivers Club, the Firle Hill Climb is returning, after a 48 year abscence, to Bopeep Lane, Alciston, Sussex, UK.

The Lancia pictured above will attend this year's event

After WWII, motorsport venues were still in military hands, but even in British with post-war austerity there were roads, tracks and hills. As long as people could get gas (petrol), and the route was, for the most part, navigable, competition could continue. This event was, originally, organized by the Bentley Drivers Club in the fall of 1949.

Below is an entry form from the last event held in 1967. M.H. Barker entered an Alton Jaguar.

This special was built by Barker in the mid to late 50s and campaigned by him into the 70s. It was the object, by the hill climb organizers, of an exhaustive search, which just came to fruition this week.

For more information on the hill climb visit their website at, http://www.bopeepdriversclub.com/.

The Bopeep Drivers Club is raising money for the Chailey Heritage Foundation, which helps medically challenged youth and teens. Help support their fundraiser at JustGiving.
