A Turn of the Century Import

Clemes at the Wheel Spences Bridge BC

Arthur Clemes, after a profitable life of land speculations and other entrepreneurial endeavours, saw great promise in the automobile while at the 1898 World Automotive Exposition in Paris. He took a liking to the Wolseley, and ordered one. He sheparded his purchase as it was shipped from England to his home in Spences Bridge BC.

Richard Trodden (pictured above) drove the Wolseley in a Jubilee Parade, commemorating the 25th Anniversary of the Reign of King George V.
